Valeo has been awarded a major interior lighting program by a premium global automaker, using TactoTek’s In-Mold Structural Electronics (IMSE) technology to integrate lighting and electronics into a single smart surface. The new automated high-volume production line will manufacture flush, lightweight interior modules that reduce material use and improve energy efficiency. Valeo said the award brings its cumulative interior lighting order intake close to EUR 1 billion since 2024, spanning pixelated solutions, light lines and smart surfaces.

IMSE embeds circuits and components directly into plastic parts, eliminating separate wiring and enabling curved, conformal interfaces that can follow dashboard, door and center-console shapes. The approach supports the industry shift toward software-defined cabins where ambient lighting, HMI and decorative trim converge.
