Valeo has finalized a EUR 45 million modernization of its Angers plant in France, transforming the site into a European reference for complex, new-generation automotive lighting systems. The upgrade added 25 automated injection presses, five varnishing lines, 11 assembly lines and 181 robots, enabling daily output of 9,000 headlights and 22,000 complex modules. The investment supports Valeo’s Elevate 2028 strategic plan and strengthens European production of advanced optical modules for passenger cars and heavy goods vehicles.
The Angers facility is now positioned as Valeo’s European competence center for heavy-duty front headlights, with truck-related production share set to rise from 20% to 40% ahead of major 2027–2028 launches. The site also integrates AI-driven predictive simulation and real-time validation tools to accelerate development of software-defined lighting.
